Trickster: The Fool's Wager · last updated 3 September 2026
Trickster is made by Maksym Sysenko. This policy covers the iPad app. The app has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking software of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Stored on your device only
- Your settings (audio, display, touch options).
- The nickname you choose for online play.
- Details of a table you can rejoin, so a dropped connection can be resumed.
This never leaves your iPad except as described below, and is removed when you delete the app.
Playing on your own
Solo play against the AI needs no network connection, and sends nothing anywhere.
Playing online with a share code
Tables opened with a share code are routed through a relay server operated by the
developer at trickster-server-production.up.railway.app. While a table
is open, the following passes through it so players can be connected to each other:
- the nickname you chose;
- the table's share code and a temporary session token;
- the moves and scores of the game in progress;
- your device's IP address, which is inherent to making any internet connection.
No account is created, and none of this is used to build a profile of you.
Nothing is stored on the server
The relay keeps a table only in memory, for as long as it is in use. There is no database and nothing is written to disk. A table is discarded automatically five minutes after the last player leaves, or fifteen minutes after a finished game, and everything about it — nicknames, codes, tokens and the game itself — goes with it.
The server's own diagnostic log records only a table's code and how many tables are open. It never records nicknames or IP addresses.
Playing over a local network
Direct and local-network play connects devices to each other without the relay server.
One third-party request
When you host a table, the app makes a single request to api.ipify.org to look up your own public IP address, so it can be shown in the lobby for you to share. Nothing else is sent to that service. See ipify.org for their terms.
Children
The app collects no personal information, and contains no chat, no user-generated content and no advertising.
Your rights
Because there are no accounts, there is no profile to export or delete. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. For any question about this policy, email maxsysenko@gmail.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
